Wichita Area  Hamfest was our state convention this year.
I enjoyed speaking with you and hearing what is going on
with your clubs and how you are enjoying the Amateur Radio
Service. Sedgwick Co. EOC Director spoke regarding county
Emergency operations and amateur radios involvement.
Joe-KB0KFH presented on Parks On The Air.

Division Convention at Sedalia, MO had good attendance
from Kansas City area. Santa Fe Trail sent a strong contingent
and had several tables for the club display. Johnson County RAC
also had a strong presence including our Section Technical Coordinator,
Bill Brinker, WA0CBW

The effort to Pass-The-Bill to allow hams to have antennas
in HOAs is still active. I know many of you have taken 60 seconds
to click and send your Rep and Senators a letter in support of
the bill. Any Ham with a valid license can help. How about your club?

KC Metro Simulated Emergency Test overall scenario was
world cup comes to town. Individual counties built their
exercises based on that theme. KC will host some of the
games next summer.

Around the Section

Mine Creek hamfest February 7, 2026 at Mound City                                                       on the fairgrounds inside the 4H Building.

Reno County Amateur Radio Association had another successful hamfest in August. Hesston College Fire Science Center  is a nice location with air conditioned fleamarket area and a  decent size meeting room. I was not able to attend this time. Our Assistant Section Manager AKØA, Ken represented ARRL at  the event.

Leavenworth County A.R.E.S. set up a booth at the LV fair. The group has a good relationship with the county.
