Description:

The Madison High School Radio Club began in 2012 with 8 members.  Since the station began, 44 students have become licensed operators. The club station is at Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho.  We are close to the Teton Mountains and about an hour away from Yellowstone National Park.  We have 2 HF rigs for our station, a Kenwood 570s and a new Yaesu FTDX101-MP!  Both rigs are configured for digital modes and have excellent Vibroplex keys for CW.  We have 2 antennas, a Butternut HF9V vertical and a homebrew G5RV antenna 30 feet high strung between 2 outside walls of the school.  Our VHF/UHF base station is a Yaesu FTM500D connected to a J-pole antenna up 30 feet on the roof of the school.  Ron Call - KE7CR, the trustee for the club, teaches electronics at the school and together with area hams keeps the club going, teaching new hams each year. Club members are most interested in 2m foxhunts, satellites, HF SSB, digital modes, and CW.   We love exchanging QSL cards.  We also use LOTW. 73 and we hope to cu on the air!
